the most important qualities a physics tutor can have is being considerate, compassionate, patient, knowledgeable and helpful to the students and make them more interested in the subject they are working on. Lead them in the right way of thinking and solving complicated problems. The most important thing would be to train the students to be able to think and research subjects with their own capability. Understanding the student's lack of knowledge and missing points, and explain subjects accordingly so that everything is clear. Trying to understand…

Help them understand problems in a way that they cxan best understand and conceptualize. Not every child will respond to the same teaching method so its about getting to know them and how they learn as well. My ability to improvise and provide the best advice on how students should go about testing themselves and learning based on the best…

Listen to feedback. Make sure they understand what they are being taught and determine if a new approach is needed. Sometimes the same information can be summarised and presented in a different way that is just easier for some people to understand. My own capacity for learning. Information retention and comprehensive analysis. Communication…

Is create a comfortable and enjoyable space to study in. I used to be tutored in my senior years, and my favourite part about going to tutoring was that I had created a friendship with my tutor and that made doing my assignments a lot more enjoyable. Being able to listen to your students as well because what’s written as a question on paper…

For me its the concept of instilling confidence. So often children are discouraged by a challenging question and then feel incapable and worthless. This is wrong on so many levels and child should ever feel this way. The most important things a physics tutor can do is instill confidence in children through patiently encouraging them to never give…

As a physics tutor, the most crucial element is to listen and work through their problems. Teachers in a mainstream school can be overwhelmed with catering to each of their student's needs. This is where we come in; we can help students to finally get the assistance they need to flourish in school. I am patient in any type of situation, and is…

To care about a student is the most important thing a physics tutor can do for a student. I am observant. I realise that everyone learns differently and I can present many solutions and lines of working for a problem - as logic is what it takes for me to realise the solutions to…

Friendliness. If the child has fears they are not smart enough, it can lead to further diseouragement. By being a friendly face they will want to see you making the overall process feel more rewarding. Paola is fantastic. Even after a few lessons my little boy has started to grasp maths issues that were once challenging for him. I can't wait to see his progress after a few months. Paola has engaged with Lucas and has become a trusted advisor. Thanks again Paola!

Inside Burpengary EastTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Darell focused on prime and composite numbers as well as square and triangular numbers, practising with example questions from a recent exam.

For Year 9, Rebecca worked through algebraic fractions and solving linear equations using her textbook to target skills she'd found challenging in class.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Joshua tackled trigonometry problems involving the cosine rule and also practiced transposing equations, preparing for upcoming assessments.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student struggled with organizing revision, often forgetting to bring schoolwork home—this left gaps in practice for core topics like fractions and multiplication.

"He needs to separate subject notes," one tutor noted, after seeing muddled math pages.

In Year 11 Maths, a student skipped writing steps for percentage difference problems; this habit made it harder to catch errors or check solutions later.

Meanwhile, a Year 9 student hesitated to apply feedback independently, only fixing mistakes when prompted. The result: concepts stayed fragile, and time in sessions was spent revisiting old ground rather than building new skills.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Burpengary East recently noticed some encouraging shifts. In Year 10, Joshua has started actively asking questions about problem-solving steps instead of staying silent when confused—a real change from earlier sessions where he'd hesitate to speak up.

Meanwhile, Rebecca (Year 9) now openly admits when she doesn't understand a question and can pinpoint exactly what's unclear, which is helping her tackle new topics more independently.

For a younger student, Charlie (Year 3) has begun talking through his subtraction strategies out loud during homework, rather than guessing quietly as he did before.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Kelly is a fantastic tutor & lovely person who clicked with Emily immediately and Emily noticed her own improvement within days. Emily sat her Maths semester exam 3 weeks later after having Kelly there was a big improvement!!! Thank you for referring Kelly to Emily and we look forward to having her tutor Emily for as long as we can!

Working at EzyMath Tutoring is really rewarding. I have been able to work with students to build their confidence and evolve them into independent learners. You build relationships and trust with students so they feel comfortable with you - even if it is saying they don't understand! It's amazing to see them improve their maths skills with increased confidence. Even better is seeing them smile and light up with excitement when they tell you of their great achievements at school.

Eshan has been a great help to Georgina over the sessions she has seen him and she felt much more confident preparing for her mid-year exams (Y9).  I think she will get an A overall for maths this semester which is great given both math exams were quite difficult and the average score was much lower. She has also been asked to join the enrichment maths group from the beginning of next term.  Although Georgina is a little apprehensive about the step up, she knows it is a great opportunity to get exposure to more difficult work before things really step up a bit in Y10.  The school is very happy with her results and I feel confident that she will continue to do well, with the right support.  I feel there is much more potential upside for her to be gained through ongoing tutoring and it will be great to have Eshan's support as Georgina joins the enrichment stream at school next term.

Physics tutoring in Burpengary East

Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking.

Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects.
