What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have had limited experience in tutoring at the moment but have conducted some informal learning sessions for primary school students. I enjoyed the interaction with the students and their desire to learn new things. Having students grasp a new concept was especially pleasing.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am an empathetic person and can relate to children feeling lost in some aspects of their learning. Even after a number of years I can think back to my early education and the feeling that I was the only one in the class that didn\'t grasp a particular point. I believe that I can put myself into the student\'s position to be effective in the role.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

We looked at a range of questions from the student’s work sheet and used both manual and CAS calculations for some matrix calculation examples. The mix of theory and both types of calculation provided some good reinforcement of the student’s understanding of the topics.
Relating to the recent SAC, marks were lost through mixing up a payment period for a financial calculation, and not completing all questions on the paper. We will need to reinforce pen and paper discipline to get critical data and details down on paper to minimise these types of errors, as well as work on improving time use when doing calculations.

Attention was paid in particular to regression analysis and knowing whether correlation coefficient is positive or negative. We reviewed two types of scenario – one where a series of bivariate data was supplied and CAS could be used to analyse, or where ‘a’ and ‘b’ coefficients can be calculated from knowing means and standard deviations or another combination of data. Extra review was done on y intercepts of graphs.
I will work with student on techniques in particular pen & paper to get abstract ideas more clearly defined on paper. We will also reinforce more effective formatting skills, in particular to get mathematical data and equations onto a single line with left hand side and right hand side separated by ‘=’ to reduce the chance of errors when simplifying each side or rearranging to find an unknown variable.

School had advised the student the date for next SAC but this was brought forward so I was not able to assign further practice questions prior to the assessment.
