First and foremost a tutor needs to give them confidence, A tutor should show the students that even the hardest questions can be solved by practicing and hard working. As a student I know the challenges and problems of learning, I have experienced many exams, so I can use my methods to help students learn in the best possible way. They need to…

A tutor has to be mature which will help them to develop a special bond with all their students. It is highly important to be empathetic. Some students can be weak and slow in understanding few concepts, dealing patiently with them would be the key to success. My strengths as a tutor are: 1. I develop a strong bonding with my students 2. I try…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is not just to teach them content - its essential to help a student become more self-sufficient in the field they are studying, and to teach them how to learn more effectively. For example, when teaching a child mathematics, I view simply teaching the content as not enough, as if you…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be empathetic. I remember my own struggles with learning and the shame that discouraged me from trying. I want my students to feel that their personal needs are important and to understand that intelligence isn't measured by the time or effort it takes to learn something. I…

Cater to their individual needs - some people fall behind in school not because they are "less intelligent", but because of the "one shoe fits all" approach followed by many of our schools. It is important distinguish each person as an individual learner, and adjust accordingly. I also strongly believe in comprehension over memorisation.…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to try make difficult content more engaging and easier to grapple with. As I mentioned before, students having difficulty with a topic will be less engaged and less willing to put in the work. That's why it's the tutor's responsibility to try make the content more appealing or reframe it in…

I think the main role of a tutor is encouraging confidence in their students. I have found that most of the time my students know the answer, they're just too afraid to say it. A tutor must be patient and listen to how the student feels and explains their material. I think being supportive and helpful of a student is the most important thing a tutor can be. Being supportive helps the student feel comfortable and helps them to do their best work, which is where they will learn more. It's also important for a tutor to help the student really learn and understand what's being taught rather than simply give them…

Staff at EzyMath Tutoring are helpful and knowledgeable. It was so easy to set up a tutor for my daughter. The process was seamless. The tutor made contact with me straight away to arrange a suitable time and the tutoring itself is going well.
Michelle, Upper Kedron

Inside Upper KedronTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 10 student Keira worked through binomial expansion and quadratic equations involving area and perimeter, using real-worded problems to apply the maths.

In Year 11, Ethan practised finding exact values of trigonometric functions in degrees and radians and explored symmetry properties of sine, cosine, and tangent graphs with visual sketches.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Alex focused on proofs by contradiction for Specialist Maths PSMT tasks, including breaking down permutations relevant to his assignment.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student forgot to bring any books or materials, which meant no meaningful progress could be made in the lesson—this disrupted momentum on their maths assignment.

In Year 8, a lack of clear note-taking led to confusion during algebra tasks; as one tutor put it, "he showed me his workbook and there was a significant lack of notes."

A tired Year 6 student struggled with concentration after athletics, resulting in incomplete practice questions for fractions.

Meanwhile, a Year 2 learner still relied heavily on counting with fingers for addition, slowing problem-solving and causing frustration when faced with timed exercises.

Recent Achievements

In Upper Kedron, a tutor recently observed that a Year 11 student who had struggled with complex quadratic equations is now forming and graphing them independently, using past feedback to refine her approach.

During a Year 9 maths session, a previously hesitant student started asking clarifying questions during lessons instead of quietly guessing—he's also begun labelling his notes more clearly after seeing the benefit.

Meanwhile, one younger student showed a shift by tackling every question on her worksheet without skipping any for the first time, staying focused through the whole session when she'd usually get distracted halfway through.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

thanks for your enquiry.  Isabella is enjoying her time with Manisha and the topics they are covering are all starting to sink in.  Isabella likes they way Manisha explains things to her and feels comfortable in asking questions. Manisha seems like a very capable person and I like her professional manner in all things.  At end of each lesson, she runs through with me what has been covered and leaves Isabella with some tips and exercises to go over during the week. I am pleased with how things are progressing and will continue until Isabella feels like she is at a place where she no longer requires assistance.

Yes, we have been very happy with how Cheyne and Juhi are getting along. Cheyne is feeling more confident about tackling her maths now and quite looks forward to her sessions with Juhi.

The tutoring is going really well. Jimmy is a great person and really good at tutoring. My son is really happy and comfortable with Jimmy. We are not taking a break over the holidays, so Jimmy is back on Wed night. Jimmy is really helping him understand his maths. Thank you for everything.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Arana Hills Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Andrew's Catholic School.
