Quick to answer question with confidence to lead the student to success. Apart from my strengths, that I do think are important qualities to have as an english tutor, being reliable in terms of having an answer to a student's question is important. A tutor can first start by welcoming their student and getting to know them in order to make them feel comfortable and relaxed. This will make it easier for the tutor to better understand the student, but also easier for the student to freely ask questions. As well as holding the ability to teach, an english tutor must have patience. Being a…

A tutor should understand a student's struggle and achievements, and be able to bring out the fun in studying to help them in their academic struggles. I encourage and motivate students to excel and set a foundation for future studies, as well as providing an entertaining and educational environment suitable for each student. As a current student…

I believe the key purpose of an english tutor is not only to improve a students grades but also encourage intellectual curiosity. Due to the individuality of each student a personalised experience must be created by tutors, through adapting teaching methods and lesson plans, to stimulate the unique minds of students. Further tutors must recognize…

The most important thing as an english tutor, in my opinion, isn't to make them get good grades or to achieve high scores, but make them feel like they are improving everyday and making them feel a sense of accomplishment when they feel like they’ve truly learnt and understood something. I hope to make sure they are able to truly enjoy learning…

Improving the confidence of the student is key. The student should evolve to have more trust in themselves and their abilities and be able to apply this. The most important thing I could do for the student is to help them achieve their own personal best and be motivated to achieve. I am a good listener. I apply this to pinpointing the key areas…

Without a doubt, I believe it is essential for a tutor to nurture and grow self-belief within their students beyond anything else. Self-belief is perhaps the most pivotal factor in deciding academic success as well as personal success, and thus I see it as an important quality for a tutor to develop . Whilst a tutor should also be avaliable,…

I believe being able to adapt and formulate various teaching methods for different students is one of the greatest strengths as a tutor. Inside Menzies CreekTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 Isaac focused on analysing political cartoons for English, with close attention to scene analysis in The Princess Bride, while also revising key Finance concepts and using the finance solver for Maths.

Year 5 Daniel worked on times tables recall, practiced adding and subtracting fractions, and strengthened his understanding of 24-hour time.

Meanwhile, Year 8 Vien developed main arguments for a practice essay and refined sentence re-wording to improve clarity in preparation for upcoming SACs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student's essay planning slowed under time pressure, with the tutor observing, "He needs to think and plan faster on his own as well due to the time limit during the actual SAC."

In Year 10 English, over-long sentences muddled meaning and made arguments harder to follow.

For a Year 7 maths student, homework was often incomplete—meaning valuable class time was spent relearning previously covered content rather than advancing.

Meanwhile, a primary student hesitated to attempt new subtraction concepts without prompting, leading to slower progress when unfamiliar material appeared.

In each case, these process challenges shaped what could be achieved in-session.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Menzies Creek noticed some real shifts this term. One high school student who'd struggled with structuring essays could now not only brainstorm relevant ideas but also spot when a paragraph became clearer after reworking it—something he found confusing before.

Another older student, after weeks of hesitating to ask for help, began communicating openly whenever she hit a roadblock in maths and was able to work through new questions on her own by the end of the session.

Meanwhile, a younger student who used to give up easily on tricky spelling words is now sounding them out first and even attempts unfamiliar ones aloud without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Tutor Stephen is a very good tutor and we would like to give him our highest recommendation for a job well done. We would recommend him to any parent who wants their child to improve in Math. Thank you for all your help Stephen and Ezy Math Tutoring.

We have used this organisation for my daughter Stephanie's HSC preparation and she ended up doing outstanding in maths in her HSC.

We engaged your services last week to assist our son, Riley. Within that short time, we're absolutely delighted and extremely impressed with the professionalism of your excellent tutor, Eliran! He is very responsive in his communication with me and has been most co-operative when I wished to match his intervention with that of Riley's school curriculum. Riley was somewhat anxious of working with a stranger, however within the first 20 minutes of the session Eliran allayed his fears with his ability to quickly establish a positive rapport, sweeping Riley up with his clear expectations of how Riley should behave in a confident manner. Eliran is obviously very competent in his subject matter and explained concepts in a simple and repetitive style. Riley was faced with a test 2 days after the initial Saturday tutorial and Eliran was most amenable to making a second session at 9am the following Sunday morning, in order to fit in with our needs! Given that this meant Eliran had to travel to our home using 2 modes of public transport, I was extremely impressed with Eliran's commitment to his job and my son. Furthermore, Eliran was also very generous with his time starting and finishing the session 10 minutes before and after the hour had concluded! I informed Riley that this kind of dedication is not common in every employee and that I was astounded with Eliran's diligent work ethic. I believe this conversation inspired Riley to perform with the similar level of integrity, and it has already paid off! We all eagerly awaited the outcome of Riley's test and we're absolutely thrilled that he scored a distinction of 79%, rising well above his average performance of 60%! My husband and I couldn't have wished for a better start, to what we hope will be a long and rewarding relationship with Eliran & Ezymathtutoring!
