Year 10 student Olivia worked through volumetric analysis revision and tackled an assignment focused on applying chemical calculations.

For Year 11, Daniel reviewed the Sine Rule and Cosine Rule in trigonometry, including practice with area problems for non-right-angled triangles using diagrams to support understanding.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Ava focused on surface area calculations for triangles, cylinders, and rectangles, along with exercises reinforcing perimeter concepts.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student tackling trigonometry struggled to apply memorised formulas when graph types changed—"she forgets how to do the questions with similar methods seeing a different graph."

In Year 11, one student's algebra work was neat but skipped writing down steps, hiding sign errors and making feedback hard to act on.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 learner regularly left times tables revision incomplete and often forgot school materials at home, which slowed maths practice.

For a Year 4 long division task, fatigue set in quickly and mistakes were repeated instead of addressed.

Recent Achievements

Solves problems independently: A Year 11 student who used to hesitate with complex algebra now approaches challenging questions on their own and even brings tricky problems to sessions, showing real initiative.

Another high schooler, previously quiet in class discussions, has started explaining what was learned at school back to the tutor—demonstrating both improved memory retention and a new willingness to engage.

A younger student who often rushed through English work is now forming paragraphs more thoughtfully instead of guessing, and recently finished writing an assignment draft without needing constant reminders.

Eshan has been a great help to Georgina over the sessions she has seen him and she felt much more confident preparing for her mid-year exams (Y9).  I think she will get an A overall for maths this semester which is great given both math exams were quite difficult and the average score was much lower. She has also been asked to join the enrichment maths group from the beginning of next term.  Although Georgina is a little apprehensive about the step up, she knows it is a great opportunity to get exposure to more difficult work before things really step up a bit in Y10.  The school is very happy with her results and I feel confident that she will continue to do well, with the right support.  I feel there is much more potential upside for her to be gained through ongoing tutoring and it will be great to have Eshan's support as Georgina joins the enrichment stream at school next term.

We are very happy with Terence , James seems to be making good progress at getting the basics of his 3 unit course. Terence is very calm, methodical and can simplify maths steps/working and James is responding very well to Terence's teaching style! Terence so far is very knowledgeable on the maths topics James is covering in class. Terence has also been very flexible & accommodating with postponing/adding lessons as required which we are very appreciative. We have been very pleased with our experience with tutoring so far!
