Year 8 student Simran worked on solving simultaneous equations and deepened understanding of algebra principles and inequalities, practicing both graphical and algebraic methods.

In Year 10, Emily focused on financial maths by calculating interest amounts and exploring how time periods affect rates of interest.

Meanwhile, Year 4 Ruby built confidence with long addition involving large numbers, as well as recognising the place value of units, tens, hundreds, and thousands within multi-digit numbers.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student in Alison tends to forget the steps after eagerly doing them, as a tutor observed, and often leaves working unclear, making it harder to review errors—especially in algebraic fractions.

In Year 8 maths, confusion between indices and multiplication has led to repeated mistakes (He is often found confusing indices and multiplication).

A Year 4 learner struggled with focus during fractions work; distractions made multi-step problems more challenging.

For a senior student tackling inequalities, incomplete coverage due to time management meant core revision topics were left unfinished.

The pattern: missing written steps or rushing leads to shaky recall later.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Alison noticed a big change in Josh, a high school student who had previously struggled with algebra—he now solves simultaneous equations independently using substitution and even identified where he was getting stuck before.

Another high schooler, Lincoln, moved from relying on prompts to independently tackling area problems during sessions.
