Although it is highly important that a chemistry tutor teaches their students the material covered in the syllabus, it is equally as important that the tutor teaches their students the tools required to succeed in a competitive academic environment. As a tutor, I instil in my students a great work ethic, teaching them highly effective study and…

Amidst the competitive pressure of institutions on this generation's children, one of the vital things a chemistry tutor can do for a fellow student is to provide a safe space for them to be able to express themselves, i.e allowing them to ask questions and understand the weaknesses of their students. That way they will be enthusiastic to learn…

I think the most important things a chemistry tutor should do for a student is to encourage the student to do better rather than to aim for perfect grades. Every improvement, regardless of the extent, is an improvement and it should be appreciated. A tutor should also prepare for the lessons before hand and have a lesson goal/outline to keep on…

I feel that it is important for the tutor to help the student along their educational journey to understand the concepts that they learn in school and also allow them to be able to make sense out of it and apply it to daily life. Most students are unable to relate their academic knowledge to real-life scenarios and this often results in…

Inside PerthTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Coen worked on calculating the area of composite figures, including sectors of circles and shapes with pieces removed, and practiced deriving and using formulas for circle areas.

In Year 10, Maya focused on matrix operations such as adding, subtracting, and scaling matrices, along with applying these to solve ticket price problems; she also tackled financial calculations involving commissions and profit/loss scenarios.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Yuri explored probability using Venn diagrams and two-way tables to express intersection, union, and conditional probabilities (P(A|B)), then applied these concepts to real-world word problems from his textbook.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student hesitated to ask her teacher for clarification outside class, leading to lingering confusion in setting up profit and stock word problems—"she was not shy about asking me, but is reticent with her teacher."

Meanwhile, a Year 11 student struggled to organize class notes into clear sections, making it harder to quickly locate formulas during revision.

In Year 7 maths, one student's tendency to solve equations entirely in his head meant crucial steps were missed on paper; errors crept in that could have been caught by writing down the process. This left him reworking problems instead of moving forward.

Recent Achievements

One Perth tutor recently noticed Maya, a Year 11 student, making a significant shift—she now methodically checks her answers and annotates her note paper with new formulas during financial maths problems, rather than rushing through calculations as she did previously.

In Year 9, Samara has started to openly question unclear concepts in lessons about piecewise graphs, moving from silent confusion to asking for clarification until things click.

Meanwhile, Freyr in Year 3 picked up three-digit addition with regrouping much faster than before and now infers answers in reading comprehension by scanning questions first.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We asked for assistance on a short term basis to help with some exam preparation.  Our tutor was quickly able to assess our daughter's capability and provide practical assistance with problem solving and techniques. Most importantly the tutor instilled real confidence in our daughter's ability, offering encouragement, support and reinforcement all the way.  We would not hesitate to contact Ezy Math for our future needs.

We are very happy with the tutoring work that Adedayo has done with Harrison so far. He has quickly formed a great rapport with Harrison and are they working very well together. Adedayo has been very encouraging and has managed to give Harrison confidence in his abilities even though they have only had a few sessions together. Harrison looks forward to his tutoring and has positive approach to sitting down and working with Adedayo. We look forward to continuing the tutoring arrangements and positive outcomes for Harrison.

We are very happy with Aurelius, he has turned something that was "like another language" (according to Aaron) into something he understands and has found his first test easy. We intend to hold onto Aurelius for as long as he wants to coach Aaron.

Chemistry tutoring in Perth

Learning Chemistry feels like learning a new language. It's hard in the beginning, you don't know what to look out for and even though you recognise things here and there that doesn't mean you can read a formula, let alone understand it. It's one of those subjects where it clicks or it just doesn't.

Tutors we work with understand that. They've been there, they had to overcome the same hurdle and they are passionate about helping others do the same. They know the pitfalls, where to spend that extra hour and what you need to memorise before you can completely understand a concept.

Chemistry Tutor Perth

Local Perth chemistry tutors are there to help your child reach that aha moment. They work around your schedule, at a time that's most convenient to you and your child.

It usually doesn't take more than a day or two before we can match you with a chemistry tutor in Perth who not only knows their content but is there to adapt to your child's needs. Not sure what kind of support your child requires? We figure that out for you!

We offer simple hourly rates, no other charges or fees, and the first lesson comes as a trial to ensure you are really happy with the tutor.

Give us a call! Our consultants can review your area, answer questions and explain pricing in detail.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as City of Perth Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St George's Anglican Grammar School.
